IMPORTANT UPDATE on SMA Journal Vol. 59
Dear Society Members,
We would like to update you on publication of volume 59 of Medieval Archaeology. This should have been sent out to Members by the end of November. Unfortunately there has been some delay in production at Routledge, Taylor & Francis. We are pleased to be able to reassure members that Volume 59 is now being printed. The volume will be published online just before Christmas and printed copies mailed at the beginning of 2016, so members should receive their copies in early to mid-January. Routledge, Taylor & Francis have apologised and issued a statement explaining that supplier changes, necessitated by the acquisition of Maney Publishing by Routledge, Taylor & Francis, extended the production time of this issue. These delays were exacerbated by severe flooding in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, home to many of the typesetters used in the academic publishing industry, including the previous typesetters of the Journal used by Maney, which resulted in severe disruption to many composition suppliers.
Routledge, Taylor & Francis is also investigating the issues some members have experienced with delivery of the Society’s newsletter and will be reporting back to the Society in January. If you have NOT received your newsletter by the middle of January, by which time the effects of the high volumes of Christmas post should have cleared, please contact Sarah Semple [s.j.semple@durham.ac.uk] so that we can evaluate how many members have been affected.
