The 2026 Annual General Meeting and Winter Symposium

Posted On: October 16th, 2026

We are delighted to announce that this year the Society will trial a hybrid Annual General Meeting and Winter Symposium. For some years these events have taken place online only, however, we have decided to hold a combined in-person and online event this year to increase the opportunities for members to meet and network.

The Annual General Meeting and Symposium will take place at the Society of Antiquaries in London on Friday 11th of December 2026.
The AGM will start at 2.00 pm and the Winter Symposium will follow at 3.00 pm, closing with a drinks reception from 5.00-6.00 pm.
Please find the programme below. We have three fantastic speakers presenting on new major excavations, projects and exhibitions. So please
do put the details in your diary. The programme also contains the Teams link to attend online, but we hope to see as many of you as possible in person.

We would also ask members to circulate the information about the Symposium to colleagues and especially students. To encourage and broaden membership, and promote the benefits of joining the Society, the Symposium and drinks reception afterwards are open to lapsed and non-members, with the opportunity for people to join the Society on the day.
