SMA Student Colloquium – Call for Papers Now Open!
We are delighted to announce that the Call for Papers for our 2026 Student Colloquium is now open. The Colloquium will be kindly hosted by the Department of Archaeology at Durham University on the 14th-15th November. The subject is “Life and Environment in the Medieval World” and we welcome papers on one of the many current themes within medieval archaeology. This could include artefacts and material culture, archaeological science, landscape archaeology, or historical and literacy studies. Talks will be 15 minutes long with a 5 minute Q&A session afterwards.
If you are a student or early career researcher in the field of medieval archaeology and are interested in presenting a paper at the Colloquium, please send a a 300-word abstract to dul6kfp@durham.ac.uk by the 15th October. We look forward to hearing from you!

Leicestershire Archaeological and Historical Society Prizes
Leicestershire Archaeological and Historical Society (LAHS) awards a number of annual prizes for dissertations at Undergraduate and Post-Graduate level, on the history, archaeology and heritage of Leicestershire and Rutland, or for comparative studies in which these counties feature in a major way. There are two prizes available for Archaeology students: best Undergraduate and best Post-Graduate
