The Society, in association with the Department of Archaeology, Durham University, is delighted to announce the call for papers for its annual Student Colloquium. The colloquium will will include visits to medieval sites in Durham and to recently excavated sites in the North Pennines.

Please submit paper and poster abstracts (150-200 words) to Perry Gardner at john.p.gardner@durham.ac.uk by October 31st, together with a 100-150 word biography.

The organisers welcome papers and posters from final year undergraduate students, Masters and PhD researchers. Papers and posters should cover aspects of UK and international archaeology from the C5th-C16th. They may present planned research as well as work in progress.

We encourage presentations which are interdisciplinary and those which demonstrate collaboration across the community of practice, including work with volunteers and with community groups.

Papers should be 20 minutes long. Posters should be A1 size. Please print them out in advance. Poster presenters will have the opportunity to give a 3 minute introduction about their research to the conference attendees.
