Ellie March completed her BA Hons. in Medieval Studies and Archaeology at the University of Exeter, including a year abroad studying at the University of Malta. She then went on to complete her Masters’ Degree in Medieval Archaeology at the University of York. She is currently undertaking doctoral research at the University of Exeter, funded in partnership with the university’s Diamond Jubilee Fund and the Friends’ of Tewkesbury Abbey. Her research is centred upon Tewkesbury Abbey, adopting an interdisciplinary approach to explore the church and its material culture from its early medieval origins through to the dissolution. This research will also feed into the production of a Conservation Management Plan for the site. Her research interests cover medieval religion and belief, artefacts and material culture theories, social use of space, and the construction of identities.
